Jamie Smith

Jamie is the Senior Counsel in the Legal Department at Rothamsted, where he leads a team responsible for providing legal advice and support to the Institute's researchers and staff. He has extensive experience in managing all forms of contracts, including research agreements, collaboration agreements, and intellectual property agreements. He also sits on several input groups and committees within the Institute, providing legal expertise to inform the Institute's decision-making processes.

Jamie is passionate about using his legal expertise to support scientific research and innovation. He believes that a strong legal foundation is essential for enabling scientists to do their best work and for bringing new discoveries to the public benefit. He is also committed to fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment for his team, and to providing them with the opportunities and resources they need to develop their skills and careers.

Jamie holds a LLB degree from the University of Pretoria and a Bachelor of Sciences degree from the University of Pretoria. He is an admitted Attorney of the High Court of South Africa.
