He graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Biosciences from Canterbury Christ Church University, worked as a Research Assistant in Immunology for 4-years before completing a MSc in Entomology at Harper Adams University. He went on to complete a PhD at the University of Warwick in partnership with Rothamsted Research, alongside an industry partner (G’s Fresh).
His research focuses on crop viruses vectored by insects and their associated interactions. Most recently, his research focus is on the virus yellows complex within sugar beet, vectored by the peach-potato aphid. His skillset includes various molecular techniques, bioinformatics, fieldwork, and entomology.
