Biography
Anneke is a plant biochemist investigating the quantity and structure of cell wall polysaccharides in wheat grain. Polysaccharides are analysed through enzymatic quantification, fingerprinting using HPAEC-PAD, Polyacrylamide Carbohydrate Electrophoresis (PACE) and MALDI-TOF-MS. Her current focus is on beta-glucan in wheat - this polysaccharide has various health benefits including for cardiovascular disease and blood glucose regulation.
